Industry Heritage Nova Scotia holds regular meetings to share information and ideas. Guest speakers often make presentations of special interest. Click on the list of meetings below to view the details.

1 March 2010 Joan Dawson is the author of the Mapmaker's Eye, Historical Atlas of the Maritime Provinces, and the recently published Nova Scotia's Lost Highways; the early roads than shaped the Province. Joan will focus on the social, commercial, industrial and community developments resulting from the developing road system.
1 February 2010 Sara Beanlands, Darryl Kelman and David Quinn. One of the most fundamental aspects of industrial archaeology is recording sites and understanding how they worked. Tonight's meeting will introduce basic techniques which can be used. We hope to be able to apply these techniques later in the year when IHNS examines an industrial site in Dartmouth. Sara and Darryl are archaeologists employed by CRM Group while David is an architect.
4 January 2010 Hank Kolstee is the retired Supervisor of land Protection and managed the 240 km tidal dyke system in the Province. He will examine some of the older and modern dyke systems.
7 December 2009 At Pier 21, Steven Schwinghamer will review the histories, assess contradictory evidence and explore what changes in our concept of the history of the Pier 21 building may mean in the context of the history of Canadian immigration.
2 November 2009 Demonstration and discussion about the role of the blacksmith in small communities at Cole Harbour Farm. .
5 October 2009 Ms. Marike Finlay - de Monchy presented a talk illustrated by power-point about the Lunenburg Foundry.
